What Is a Final Site PSR?

A final site PSR is the on-site stage of a Pre-Start Review completed after machinery or equipment has been installed in its final operating location.

The review is used to verify that the installed machine, safeguards, controls, and supporting systems match the reviewed design and meet applicable Ontario safety requirements before operation.

When Is a Final Site PSR Completed?

A final site PSR is typically completed after installation and commissioning are substantially complete, but before the equipment is placed into regular service.

The timing should allow the reviewer to inspect the final guarding, safety controls, access points, electrical integration, and other safety-related features in their installed condition.

What Does the Engineer Check During a Final Site PSR?

The engineer may review machine guarding, interlocks, light curtains, emergency stops, safety-related controls, access points, structural supports, electrical integration, and any corrective actions identified during earlier reviews.

The purpose is to confirm that the final installation reflects the intended safety design and that outstanding items have been addressed.

What Happens If Deficiencies Are Found During the Final Site PSR?

If deficiencies are identified, they should be corrected before the affected equipment or process is placed into service where the PSR requirements apply.

The engineer may document the outstanding items and review the corrective actions once they are completed.

Can ZCS Complete Final Site PSRs After Installation?

Yes. ZCS can perform final on-site PSR reviews after machinery or equipment has been installed.

Depending on the project, ZCS can verify corrective actions, review safeguarding and safety controls, identify remaining deficiencies, and support the client through final compliance verification.
