Safety & Engineering Solutions in Canada and the USA

ZCS is a dynamic, multi-faceted organization specializing in safety and engineering services across Canada and the United States. Since 2009, we’ve built our reputation on innovation, intrapreneurship, and cuttingedge technology. This forward-thinking approach has enabled us to stay agile, efficient, and positioned for rapid growth in an ever-evolving industry.

 

2009

Foundation and Early Focus

ZCS was founded in Guelph, Ontario. The company began by supporting Tier 1 automotive suppliers as an extension of their plant process engineering teams.

2010

Pioneering Safety Innovation

While working with automotive plants, ZCS engineers identified serious daily safety risks faced by machine operators. In response, ZCS became an early innovator by launching ZCS AKIA Engineers, offering turnkey safety engineering solutions for manufacturing plants and machine builders. The business scaled quickly, with sales growing over 500% in its second full year.

2011-2012

Strategic Expansion

ZCS opened a new engineering office in Newmarket, Ontario and partnered to establish a managed office in Gurgaon, India. This boosted capacity and drove 100% revenue growth in 2012. By year-end, ZCS served over 200 customers across Canada and the U.S., with ongoing growth and expanded services.

2018

Acquisition of Stark Safety Ltd.

ZCS acquired ‘Stark Safety Ltd’, broadening it’s reach in the Kitchener/Waterloo region.

2019

Building Local Presence

A new office opens in Mississauga to strengthen engineering and sales capabilities.

2020

Acquisition of C&R Engineered Solutions

ZCS acquired C&R to enhance its expertise in safety compliance, including PSRs, ESRs, and automation safety. Their deep knowledge of OHSA and CSA standards made them a strong strategic fit and expanded ZCS’s engineering capabilities.

2021–2023

Diversification and Technical Depth

Expanded service offerings with specialized expertise in Pre-Start Health and Safety Reviews (PSRs) for Dust Collectors, Hazardous Area Classifications (HAC), and processes involving ignition or explosion risks.

2023

New Milestones Achieved

Construction begins on a new Guelph facility; ZCS reaches 750+ clients in diverse industries.

2024

A New Home Base

ZCS moves into its new headquarters at 30 Bett Court in Guelph, marking a major growth chapter.

2025-Beyond

Scaling for the Future

ZCS anticipates continued expansion in response to an ever-increasing need for its engineering and safety services. With innovation at its core, ZCS plans to double sales and headcount in the next three years.
